DEEP DISH TACO PIE RECIPE:
Ingredients:
- 1 package Chef Boyardee complete mix for 2 pizzas
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- Dairy sour cream (optional)
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 cup chopped tomato
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Prepare crust according to package directions through step 1.
- Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Spread half the dough along the bottom of both pans, pinching up edges to hold sauce.
- Prick bottom of dough with fork. Bake on lowest rack for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, in a medium skillet, brown beef and onion; drain.
- Stir in pizza sauce from package and chili powder. Remove from heat.
- Spread half the sauce mixture over each crust.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese from package, chilies, and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream if desired.
